Lively Minds Consulting creates happy book memories and meaningful interactions with young children and helps their adults do the same.

Hi Everyone!

My name is Anne Harris and I've been working in the early childhood education field since 1991, when I volunteered at an NAEYC accredited center for my senior service project. Since then, I've had a decade of experience teaching preschool and mentoring other teachers, 8 years as a child development specialist for the City of Wichita, and almost 13 years as Wichita Public Library's youth outreach/early literacy librarian. I've taught college for Butler Community College's early childhood department since 2003. In 2007, I completed my M.S. in Family Studies and Human Services: Early Childhood Education.
I have a love for children's books and am a strong believer in the power of storytimes to enrich children's lives and learning across all developmental domains.
My position with the library was a victim of COVID-19, but I can't imagine NOT bringing engaging literacy experiences to young children and their adults so Lively Minds Consulting was born.
The only other employee is Monkey, who works for bananas. He assists with most storytimes when he's not visiting his birth family in the jungle. He is perpetually four years old, is learning to read and write, and loves storytime and hugs!

Storytime

Book an engaging and interactive 30 minute storytime at your program. Storytime typically includes 2 books or stories using storytelling aids, songs, a fingerplay, a large motor activity and a game. The activities develop children's early literacy skills and development across all domains. Storytimes are most appropriate for ages 2-5 years.
